Position Overview:

Within the Department of Donor Relations in the Office of Institutional Advancement, the Coordinator of Donor Relations supports the day-to-day Donor Relations activities for the department. The Coordinator will lead the gift acknowledgment process by preparing high-quality written correspondence and sending individualized thank you letters for donors in a timely basis.

Responsibilities:

The Donor Relations Coordinator’s primary responsibility is to provide a positive donor experience by sending timely and high-quality gift acknowledgements. This position will also draft individualized thank you letters for donors, as well as acknowledgments on behalf of the university president and vice president for institutional advancement. They will also write correspondence to donors who are honored or remembered through philanthropy. 

Additionally, the Donor Relations Coordinator will assist with day-to-day activities that include preparing reports, ensuring accuracy of gift entries, and assisting with data entry into the Ellucian Advance database. They will also assist with donor appreciation and recognition events within the Office of Institutional Advancement.

Required Minimum Qualifications:

Education Required:

Bachelor’s degree

Experience Required:

  • One year experience in donor relations, communications, or related field, preferably in an academic setting.
  • Demonstrated proficiency utilizing Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to learn new technologies quickly.
  • Strong written (including proofreading and editing) skills.
  • Sound judgment and discretion in handling and securing confidential information, as well as the ability to conduct oneself in a highly professional manner.
  • Flexibility to work as part of a team or independently to meet goals.
Preferred Qualifications: 
  • Experience in a university or college setting.
  • Experience with donor databases (Ellucian Advance) 
  • High attention to detail and a proactive work ethic.
