| Position Overview: |
UMBC is hiring a Conference Operations Coordinator in Event & Conference Services! Join our event scheduling and advising team, streamline operations, and play a key role in shaping campus events for external users and summer conference guests.

| Telework: |
A hybrid telework schedule may be available.

| Responsibilities: |

Work directly with the Assistant Director of Sales and Marketing to ensure proper university conference marketing, university outreach, and continuity of service.

Provide support year round for external events.

Expansion and marketing the Intern Housing Program and serve as a point of contact for StarRez and platform improvements.

Maintaining accurate documentation, including all requests, housing assignments, linen counts, lock and unlock schedules.

Strong and dedicated customer service delivery.

Monitor guest management, key/card access control database, linens, and desk safety and security procedures and coordinate conference arrivals and departures.

Recruit, hire, train, supervise, and evaluate summer conference staff including writing and updating staff training and procedural manuals which include guidelines, procedures, and practices for all areas of community desk and conference operations.

Work collaboratively with all units within Residential Life to include:

Facilities for safety, security, maintenance, technology, and housekeeping

Residential Education for coordination of community director(s) assigned to assist with summer conference program and recruitment and hiring of summer conference staff

Student Conduct for assistance with behavioral issues and concerns, procedures, protocols, student personnel accountability, etc.

Assignment Services for coordination with daily operation and service during the academic and summer conference seasons.

| Required Minimum Qualifications: |
Education Required:
- Bachelor's degree preferably in event management, hospitality, marketing, business management, or a closely related field.
Experience Required:
- Two years of experience in event management or hospitality.
- Demonstrated commitment to meeting the needs of diverse populations and organizations; ability to interact effectively with broad campus constituents and community partners.
- Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Impeccable customer service values.
- Comfort with a high-paced dynamic work environment.
- Strong team player mentality required.

| Preferred Qualifications: |
- Experience in Residential Life in a university setting is preferable.
- Experience supervising student staff.
- Experience with 25Live scheduling software, StarRez, and Google Suite strongly preferred.

| Salary: |
Salary: $54,500 - $61,500 depending on qualifications and experience.
The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, budget, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business considerations.
The above salary range represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
